Without volunteers it would be impossible to have summer camp.  So, if you would like to  be considered for a volunteer staff position at Bridgeport Summer Camps, read the requirements and responsibilities below.  If you meet these, print and fill out the forms at the bottom of the page and return to Bridgeport Camp.

Two Main Areas of Responsibility:

1. Hospitality and Guide

  • Help in welcoming and getting campers settled and oriented.
  • Share cabin responsibilities with other volunteers or staff.
  • Help in keeping campers on schedule.
  • Encourage campers to keep cabins clean during the week.

2. Group Activity Leadership

  • Share small group leadership with other volunteers or staff.
  • Be prepared for each day’s sessions – who is doing what, materials needed.
  • Keep on target with the curriculum theme for the day.
  • Help in the implementation of the evening activities. (games, talent show, etc.)
  • Help in other areas as needed (afternoon activities, worship. etc.)

Applicant Requirements

  • 18 years old or older for Elementary and Jr. High camps.
  • 21 years old or older for Sr. High camps.
  • Genuinely want to be a volunteer.
  • Enjoy being with a particular age group.
  • Mature in your behavior and Christian commitment.
  • Able to dedicate a week of your time to children/youth.
  • Able to supply a reliable reference.
  • Pass a criminal background check.

All applications will be forwarded to the appropriate Camp Director.
Applications will not be considered final without the Camp Directors approval.
